Near the Welsh border, in the Royal Forest of Dean, Forest Film Locations are especially curated TV and film locations offering exclusive occupation of large, privately owned sites suitable for social distancing. Near Bristol and Cardiff, yet we could be in another world. Certainly, Tolkien and Rowling thought so...
This introduction service is provided without cost, for and on behalf of this group of film locations, who are flexible and willing to work to the changing requirements of the British film industry during the Covid-19 crisis.
Our sites have ample space for distancing, safe working practices and long-term sole occupancy. We also have substantial spaces suitable for parking set vehicles and for build areas / back lots.
Do contact me, Clare Wright, for an initial introduction to the area and the film locations, props, and accommodations showcased here. Coming from an old established family in the area, I have extensive local knowledge and contacts that may wish to be engaged with their locations or in finding resources to assist your production.
We are less than an hour from Cardiff and Bristol, and under 3 hours from London.
Toll-free Severn Bridges enable a better trip than ever to the Royal Forest of Dean.
Our locations are extraordinarily diverse in character and geographically close: unique and authentic histories, landscapes, buildings, machinery, engines, structures and settings, accessible above and below ground.
The Secret Forest location has a natural beauty and rugged landscape. The Roundhouse Village is more pastoral and gladed. Ideal for fantasy epics, adventure, historical and period dramas and natural history documentaries.
Evoke the romance of the steam era with Dean Forest Railway and the attractive period Lambsquay House with luxury self-contained suites and garden, St. Briavels Castle with its imposing gatehouse, walls and banquet hall.
And delve into local resources for props, such as the Wartime collection of Forest of Dean and related wartime memorabilia.
